I am pretty sure smoothies and protein shakes are a food group…at least in my world they are. I have a smoothie for breakfast or lunch almost every day. I have an entire Pinterest board dedicated to them.
I hope everyone’s weekend is off to a fabulous start. We had a going away party last night for some of our closest friends, Mitch and Rita. They are off to start a new adventure in Seattle. The send off was a bittersweet event, but we are so excited for them.
You already know that I am a total food nerd. I literally DVR shows on Food Network and The Cooking Channel. I can’t help it. My other nerdy food obsession is to read cooking and food blogs. Until I became interested in writing my own blog I never realized how much I would grow to love and appreciate food blogs. I thought reading them was some sort of weird, hipster-ish thing to do, but clearly I am over that now.
How is everyone doing? This summer is flying by so fast. Even though it happens every year, I cannot believe there is already back to school stuff out in the stores. I really do enjoy my job, but I am still in summer mode and I don’t even want to think about going back yet! There are still so many little projects and things that I would like to accomplish before the end of the summer. I know, total teacher problem…I will stop complaining. What are your big plans for the rest of summer?
It has been a few weeks since my last Favorite Pin Friday. Better late than never right? The theme for the third edition of Favorite Pin Friday is breakfast. Lately I have been trying some new breakfast recipes and have fallen in love with a few. Here they are.
The first recipe is one that I tried for the first time today. These Oatmeal Cottage Cheese Banana Pancakes from Ambitious Kitchen are delicious, healthy, and loaded with protein. I had mine with strawberries and peanut butter.
